The idea of creating the Creative Clusters’ Alliance (CCALL) emerged in 2022. With the support of UNESCO and the European Union, Creative Georgia organised a seminar aimed at developing creative clusters in Georgia. This event brought together representatives from various public, private, and civil organisations.<\/p>

The initiative continued with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between 11 founding organisations on June 21, 2022. This memorandum aims to foster mutual cooperation based on shared interests, focusing on initiating and strengthening creative clusters in Georgia and promoting their self-sufficiency. The memorandum outlines the following areas of collaboration and mutual support:<\/p>

Advocacy: Addressing the needs of creative clusters in Georgia, empowering the Creative Clusters’ Alliance, and establishing a national network.
Internationalisation: Promoting the international presence of CCALL and the national network through awareness campaigns and involvement in international projects.
Public-Private Partnerships: Advocating for the introduction of public-private partnership practices to support creative cluster development.
Management Models: Implementing democratic and successful creative cluster management and business models based on international experience.
In 2023, to further develop and refine the Creative Clusters’ Alliance initiative, a project titled “Supporting the Development of Creative Clusters in Georgia” was launched with the support of the British Council. From March 7-9, 2023, Creative Georgia organised a workshop for the founding organisations of the Alliance, led by British experts Gail Cage and Rebecca Shusmith. Gail is an international creative industries policy and strategic development expert with 20 years\u2019 experience working in, and with, national government. Gail has worked in the UK national government for over a decade, primarily as Head of Creative Industries Policy at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. She now works as a freelance consultant advising industry members of the Creative Industries Council. Gail is also a voluntary board member for the not for profit membership organisation, Bristol Creative Industries.

She has partnered with organisations such as the AHRC, Nesta, the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre, Hivos, as well as numerous international organisations and governments.
